The main aim of this project was experimentation, exploration, and to enhance our composition skills

Creative process

Iterative Process:

The main idea of an Iterative process is to never use the first idea but to use the 7th or the 8th idea. Iterative process means to keep on experimenting until you're truly satisfied.

For example, while working on this map, I made several changes to the original layout. It was too thin and bland to look at, and it was not going with the intended minimalist vibe that I was going for

And this is the final outcome of the layout. I added a contrasting outline to the layout and also added a pathway for a park.

Where did the Park come from?

Well... I know we weren't supposed to use google maps but, since my map looked so empty and I had already moved to Delhi, I just had to use google maps to look at the area that I selected. Sorry!

Visual Communication

I wanted to create a minimalist-looking map, but my initial final product had too much going on. so I removed all of the unnecessary trees from the map. I also created very simple-looking icons to also give a very minimalist-looking map.

I also used very simple shapes for the trees and and houses to also give a very minimalist look

Conclusion

One of the major struggles I had while working on this project was the lack of motivation I had for this project, even though I like working digitally. I feel like I just wasn't happy with my original layout, which really demotivated me from working on the map. That is why I remade my layout and started from scratch, which gave me the motivation that I needed.

One of the things I learned while working on this project was the Rule of thirds in compositions

What is the Rule of thirds?

Rule of thirds is basically a 3x3 grid that divides the composition into nine parts. It has four focus points, focus points are those points where your eye gets attracted to first.

I learned about rule of thirds after I finished my map Project, When lovelish sir was giving me personal review, he taught me about the rule of thirds and told me use it on my map to make it look my appealing

Initial composition

After using rule of thirds

In the initial one the eye was getting forcefully getting attention towards the scooty

But, In the new after using the rule of thirds the scooty looks one with the composition.
